Advocacy Caseworker (6 months with possibility of extension subject to funding)
Friends, Families and Travellers is seeking a compassionate and proactive Advocacy Caseworker to join our dedicated team in Brighton.
In this vital role, you’ll provide advice, information and hands-on support to Gypsy, Roma and Traveller individuals and families across the UK, helping navigate issues such as housing, healthcare, discrimination, and access to essential services.
You’ll be at the heart of FFT’s National Helpline, delivering practical support through casework and advocacy, and making a real difference in people’s lives. We’re looking for someone with strong communication and organisational skills, a commitment to equality, and ideally, experience in advice, advocacy or social welfare.

Volunteer opportunities
We're pleased to present an exciting opportunity to volunteer with Friends, Families and Travellers and help make a difference to people and communities seeking our support and experience.
We currently have a vacancy for a volunteer working as part of our Service Delivery team, providing support to our dynamic team of caseworkers, answering calls on our National Helpine, supporting clients with letter-writing and form-filling, gathering client feedback, and more.
We ask that you can commit to at least 6 hours a week and are able to attend our offices in Brighton. Telephone experience and digital skills are desirable, but not essential.
You will receive all the relevant training, including specialist Housing, Safeguarding, Welfare, and Benefits training, and gather a wealth of knowledge on a wide range of issues faced by Romany, Irish Traveller, Roma and Traveller people we work with, and how to best assist with support requests.
