Have your say: Government consultation on changes to planning system

Today, Friends, Families and Travellers (FFT) is asking Gypsy and Traveller people to respond to its  survey drawn from parts of a government consultation on changes to the planning system.

The original 123-page consultation features 225 questions (closing 10 March), however FFT has received permission from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to create a more accessible version of relevant parts of the consultation.

The Government is seeking views on changes to the planning system which could have a big impact on whether sites are built. Any responses to the FFT survey will be sent directly to the Government, to make sure views are heard directly. Responses to the survey can be anonymised.

Due to the short consultation period, the survey closes at 3pm 4 March 2026, in order to help compile the information in time.

PLEASE NOTE: This survey is only available to people from a Gypsy or Traveller background. The consultation and changes only apply to England.
