Who We Were; Who We Are: Kosovo Roma Oral History Project: This site is intended as an advocacy tool for a persecuted minority- Kosovo’s Roma. It is comprised of roughly 60 interviews with Roma in different Kosovo Mahalas and enclaves, and provides transcripts, video, sound files, photos and scans. The site also has detailed interviewee site reports and a comprehensive history section illustrating Roma history in Eastern Europe, and the former Yugoslavia in particular. We offer free advice and information to families where social services are involved with a child in the family. This may be in relation to child protection concerns or when a child is looked after by the local authority or when family support services are needed.
For grandparents raising their grandchildren, we also offer advice about your rights as carer of your grandchild; lawyers; legal advice and the courts; financial help; the role of social services; your grandchild’s education; support groups for grandparents as well as useful names and addresses. Callers speak in confidence to a social worker or solclitor who is able to send advice sheets and other publications free of charge.
