Child Protection Policy for the Cyber Pilot Website

1. Use of Photographs: No child, unless point 2 is followed, will have their photograph on the website showing their full face. Photographs may be used where the child is show from the side or back, or if the photograph is significantly blurry. Children's faces may be used in Flash slideshows, as these cannot be copied/saved from the website.

2. If an image of a child’s full face is used, a parent/guardian consent form must be signed.

3. Photographs and drawings on the website cannot be saved/downloaded by members of the public. The CyberPilot site uses Javascript coding that disables the ‘right click, save’ function.

4. The site is copyrighted. This is displayed at the bottom of every page.

5. The webmaster and outreach worker are police checked through FFT.

6. No child on the site will have their first name and last name displayed together. First names only.

7. No child on the site will be connected with a specific location. Broad locations such as large cities and counties will be used.

8. No site names will appear on the site and connected with children.

9. The CyberPilot database will not be passed on to anyone or organisation outside of FFT. The database is confidential. Any Cyber Pilot may look at their details on the database to check if they are correct. Cyber pilots will not receive any mail or emails that are not connected with the CyberPilot project.

10. All E-Pal messages are viewed by the Community Web Manager prior to being posted on the E-Pals board. Messages may be edited according to the ‘Rules of the Message Board’ – These rules are as follows:

a. You must be a registered Cyber Pilot

b. For your own safety, only use your first name.

c. For your own safety, do not write where you live, or where you are staying.

d. For your own safety, the Webmaster will not post email address, or any phone numbers.

e. No swearing or bad language.

f. No talking about sex or sexual stuff.

g. Do not talk about violent stuff.

h. Always respect others, whatever race, nationality, type of traveller or religion they are.
